Answer:

[tex]\boxed{11486}[/tex]

Explanation:

1. Calculate the perimeter p

p = a + b + c = 174 + 138 + 188 = 500

2. Calculate the semiperimeter s

s = p/2 = 500/2 = 250

3. Calculate the area

We can use Heron's Formula:

[tex]\begin{array}{rcl}A & = & \sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}\\& = & \sqrt{250(250-174)(250-138)(250-188)}\\& = & \sqrt{250\times 76 \times 112 \times 62}\\& = &\sqrt{131 936 000}\\& = & \mathbf{11 486}\\\end{array}[/tex]

[tex]\text{The area of the triangle is } \boxed{\textbf{11486}}][/tex]

Question
Look at the far left lane in the picture. Explain what the red car is doing and what it needs to do to travel safely.
Solution 1

The red car appears to be "tailgating" the red SUV ... following too close behind it.

The driver of the red car should immediately back off ... leave some more space between his car and the SUV.

If the SUV isn't driving fast enough for him, he should fall in behind the blue car (at a safe distance), and perhaps into one of the two right-hand lanes, and WAIT for a safe opportunity to pass all the traffic and move out ahead. ย The traffic pattern is sure to change in a minute or two.

Solution 2

Answer:

The red car is on the car ahead of its rear , its needs to slow down and remain 4 seconds behind it.

Question
HELPPPP MEEEJHEUGUFKKUW SKSKKSKSKSK Lines l and m are parallel lines cut by the transversal line t. Which angle is congruent to โˆ 3?
Solution 1

Angle-6 is congruent to Angle-3.

They are "alternate interior angles" formed by a transversal cutting across parallel lines. ย These are always congruent, according to a widely studied theorem of 9th grade plane geometry.

Angle-2 is also congruent to Angle-3, because they are a pair of "vertical angles".

And, since Angle-6 is congruent to Angle-3, Angle-7 is too, because it forms a pair of vertical angles with Angle-6.

These don't depend on parallel lines, only on 'vertical angles'.

Question
what were the different explanations for the causes of the black death? how do you explain the differences, and what do these explanations tell you about the level of scientific knowledge in the later middle ages? why do you think jews became scapegoats? (BASED ON THE READING)
Solution 1

1. The Black Death struck Europe like a storm. There was not a logical explanation for it, so different people started to come out with different theories about it. One theory was that it was the wrath of God because the human kind had angered him with all the sins it is doing. Another theory was that the air was corrupt and the disease was spreading through it. The Jews were blamed too, and some believed that they have poisoned the wells and springs in order to wipe the Christians.

2. The differences in the explanations about the Black Death are mostly because of the different points of view, but also because of some interests. The corrupt air and that it may be the wrath of God were explanations by the majority of the people, and the main reason was that they were religious, they saw the world in religious manner, and they had no scientific explanation. The theory about the Jews poisoning the springs and wells was because the Catholic Church was looking for a reason to exterminate them, so this was the perfect occasion. This tells us that the level of knowledge during this period was on a very low level and that the medicine was not developed very well.

3. The main reason why the Jews became scapegoats was that the Catholic Church and the Jewish communities were not in good relations at all. The Catholic Church was dominant with much more power though, so they used that, blamed the Jews of trying to kill off all the Christians, and the people fell for that easily. Considering that there was no logical explanation for the Black Death, the people turned to the Jews and started persecuting them and killing them, often by burning them alive or hanging them publicly.

a certain family has 4 pets: a rabbit, a turtle, a dog, and a cat. Two pets are male and two are female. The nicknames of the pets are star, mike, butch, and pete. the rabbit and the cat recently gave birth. the rabbit is younger, than pete but older than mike, who is a mother. pete is older than the dog. star likes to have his back rubbed. what is the nickname of each pet?โ€‹
Solution 1

Answer:

Rabbit - Butch; Turtle - Pete; Dog - Star; Cat - Mike

Explanation:

1. The rabbit and the cat gave birth, so they are females.

2. Mike is a mother, and the rabbit is not Mike. Mike is the cat.

3. Pete is older than the rabbit and the dog. Pete is the turtle.

4. Star likes to have his back rubbed. That's not an important piece of information, but the use of the word "his" is. The rabbit is female, so the Star would be the dog.

5. Thus leaving Butch as the nickname of the rabbit.
